The reconstruction of Πιργο Πειραιά is completed and the construction of the Riviera Tower in Ελληνικό begins. This was reported, among others, by the representatives of Dimand and Lamda Development at the meeting held on Monday, September 18, on the first day of the 6th Building and Transportation Conference. The opposite of the connection was the examination of two unique case studies for Greek data. The reconstruction of the Tower of Peiraia, a landmark for the large port, and the development of the tallest skyscraper ever built in the country, the Riviera Tower in Hellenic, with the use of modern methods and tools, pave the way for the high-rise constructions of the future .
L. Vokas (LAMDA DEVELOPMENT): With the most modern practices in testing the structures of the Riviera Tower
The high standards and modern design techniques used in the construction of the Riviera Tower, the iconic Greek skyscraper, were mentioned by Леωнидас Вώкаς, Senior Construction Director of the Riviera Tower, Development Residential Sports & MUT of LAMDA DEVELOPMENT.
According to τον κ. Βώκα, ο Riviera Tower, which will be the tallest building ever built in the country, with a height of 205 meters and 50 elevated floors, is being built to the highest standards ever implemented in our country.
In order to respond to the major challenges of the project, given that it is the first very tall building in the Greek space, η LAMDA DEVELOPMENT, as επισήμανε ο κ. Βώκας, cooperates with major international architectural houses, engineers and other offices, which in turn cooperate with important Greek offices.
In the design challenges, very tall buildings, precisely because of their height, are more affected by external factors, such as wind, earthquakes, etc., so special studies are required that take into account these special characteristics. Especially in the part of static studies, as he explained, “we studied the air with wind tunnel testing to see the distribution of wind pressures at the height of the building throughout its life, so that the people who will live in it enjoy the space in which they are”. Accordingly, in the case of an earthquake, given that Greece is a region where there are no clear maps on seismicity, a special study with dynamic analysis of seismicity was carried out. “We designed more than what was required by the legislation regarding the seismic behavior of the building, with the new graphical methodology of performance space design.”
In the part of the construction of the sky, he said that the project includes 75,000 cubic meters and 17,000 tons of steel, while the goal is to be completed in early 2026. Currently, the foundations have been completed for 316 pasals, with a depth of up to 50 meters. in the ground For the construction of the building, the so-called cycle of 5 days will be applied, that is, as described above. Βώκας, “the construction of each floor will be completed within 5 days, a practice that will be implemented for the first time in Greece”.
In conclusion, he emphasized that until now the most modern practices in construction testing are applied, while he added that “these standards will now be used in constructions throughout Greece by us and our partners.”
